Atlas V 401 (Lucy Mission) - Auto Orbit

Craft celebrating the launch of the Lucy Probe on its 12 year mission to the Trojan Asteroids on the 16th of October 2021

What is the Lucy mission?

• Lucy will be the first mission of its kind, and is set to explore seven asteroids around Jupiter’s L4 and L5 Lagrange points and one asteroid in the main asteroid belt. The spacecraft will be used to study the formation of the solar system, as it is believed that the Trojan asteroids are remnants of the primordial material that formed the outer planets in the solar system.

What does 401 mean?

Craft Notes:

1. Auto Launch Vizzy to ~350km circular orbit at 93 degree inclination (Full Throttle to Activate)
2. Multiple Camera views (Booster, Centaur, Payload)
3. Launch Pad view to enjoy liftoff

Space-craft Notes:

1. After separation from Atlas, change command chip to space-crafts own chip.
2. Deploy & extend solar arrays by setting Slider 1 to -100
3. 2 onboard cameras to enjoy views
