EXPLORATION AEROSPACE JET COVERUP SCANDAL:

After Exploration Industries Military Sector shut down a facility, it was often trespassed upon by the curious public. Because the owners had seemingly not bothered to move the prototypes, perhaps because they were obsolete, explorers often found previously unseen tech. The largest, most complete model they found was this airframe, which seemed to belong to an agile 4++ generation Air-Superiority Fighter. However, with the frankly below-par production quality, it was nowhere near safe enough to fly. The fuselage was not aligned, pretty badly warped, and the wings looked like they produced more drag than lift with uneven panel lines, gaps, and overall bad production.

Nearby they found a computer with irate notes from the designers, cursing their own incompetence, and that they were considering simply abandoning the design.
