The Ares 1 was the crewed launch vehicle of the Constellation program, which was formed in the 2000s to return humans to the moon. It featured a shuttle derived first stage with an Apollo-Heritage second stage, designed to launch the all new Orion capsule into low earth orbit. It never got to fly humans due to safety problems and program cancelation, but we don't have to worry with either of that in SR2. This vehicle has been derived from my SLS rocket.
