With the already Advanced Technology the SFA Armed Forces in their weaponry that are much more effective than what is needed, and the newly merged Aerospace Divisions, with the complete interest of the Experimental Division #251 of putting a space base on LEO, The Project Global Reach is enacted. Alongside with this are multiple manufacturing units of SFA are reconfigured to make way for the first official space program of the SFA.

XR-2 Is a modification of the already in service MK-5509 ICBMs, allowing a small payload of modules to be sent into orbit instead of a ballistic trajectory with a payload of five Hydrogen Bombs. Due to the needed power of launching with sufficient ?V for orbital maneuvers and rendezvous, two boosters are kept to the sides to aid in launch procedures

Although quite expensive, a favorable option is to recover these stages in order to reduce launch costs but the complexity added to the already packed rocket is undesirable even to the most experienced engineers of SFA

Stage 1-2: 100% Thrust, 90* Pitch
Stage 3-5: 100% Thrust, 90* Pitch, 45* Pitch @60,000 m, 0* Pitch 60s before desired altitude below 600km, Continue to Initial orbit, Continue to Parking orbit
Stage 6: Fairing separation
Stage 7: Initial Rendezvous maneuver until within 2km
Stage 8: Final Rendezvous maneuver until docked

Oh wow this took three days to perfect, with tens of failed attempts and backflips (yes that’s why I said in PLS to not change 90* Pitch until ideally 60km)

Docking is really nerve racking. But at 500km orbit, it’s good enough that three modules are docked in place lmao
