Dash 80: Triple the speed, triple the luxury!
This is the Dash 80, the plane that revolutionized aviation in the 1970s. With its bold swing-wing design and powerful engines, the Dash 80 was a marvel of aeronautical engineering that pushed the boundaries of what was possible in commercial flight.
Development:
In the early 1960s, the Strella Company envisioned a supersonic passenger plane that could fly double or triple the speed of any other commercial plane of it's time. Drawing inspiration from a bomber design, work on the Dash 80 began in 1966. The engineers faced significant challenges, including managing heat generated at supersonic speeds and creating a wing mechanism that balanced performance and efficiency.
After years of refinement, the Dash 80 prototype took to the skies for its maiden flight in 1971. It showcased advanced materials and cutting-edge aerodynamics, setting the stage for its entry into commercial service in 1975.

- Introduction: 1975
Features and Advancements:
The Dash 80’s defining feature was its swing-wing design, which allowed for optimal efficiency across different flight regimes. Equipped with four high-performance engines, it cruised at Mach 2.0, offering passengers unmatched speed and luxury. State-of-the-art navigation and avionics systems provided safety and reliability during transcontinental journeys.
