A rocket powered flying wing, that carries a vtol shuttle out of the atmosphere, land on Luna, take off and return to Droo for a glide in landing.

Activation groups

"extend arms sl1" - rotates 4 shuttle engines outward(slider1 1 to 100)

"rotate vtol sl2" - rotates 4 shuttle engines(and command chip) 90 degrees up or down (slider 2 -100 to 100)

"lights", "cargo bays", "landing gear", "rcs", "solar panels" - off/on

Use the nav sphere to fly...it has a strong gyro to keep it stable, and the right stick to adjust roll

to take off - turn on "extend arms sl1" and set slider 1 to 100, set heading to 15 degrees of pitch, and activate stage 1 with throttle at 100%, it will lift off at the end of the runway. then retract the landing gear. it is a heavy wing(you will see it flex), so after takeoff - throttle back to 70 %, and slowly adjust the pitch to 45 degrees in small increments as it responds.

after the first stage is empty, interstage, and activate the next 2 boosters, and bring slider 1 back to 0(retracting arms) - they should get it to orbit altitude, and after ejecting, a burn from the shuttle engines will finish the orbit (there should be around 5000 delta v left in the shuttle now, for the moon journey)

tranfer to luna orbit, retrograde burn to set up landing path. then activate"engine arms" set slider 1 to 95(left a little room for nose down recovery)and "rotate vtol sl2" and set slider 2 to 100. it will rotate the craft orientation, so give it a couple seconds to recover, and land it like a vertical rocket(with "landing gear" activated).

take off from luna, gain some altitude, and set slider 2 back to 0, then slider 1 back to 0, and continue in rocket configuration back to droo. aim for 50,000M re-entry, level and at as low of an angle possible. set the heading prograde until it starts losing speed, then adjust to 0 degrees...it should slow down without heating up past 950 degrees. using small adjustments, it can slow down and glide in for landing at 80m/s.

it can make the round trip with a efficient flight path, and using the atmosphere for the final slow down...but its a challenging journey. it can carry 2 decent sized payloads to Luna, but would need refueling to return. i didnt put any cargo in the bays because the part count was up, so add interstages and your satellites or rovers. it only needs "rcs" to deploy satellites(with no arm), just release and puff away(up or down) in translation mode.

sorry for the dictionary sized description

@SmurfResearchX I guess it depends. Personally my enjoyment comes from inventing stuff and trying to make it work, other peoples crafts are kind of like reference material, I check them out if they succeed where I’ve failed but otherwise I’d rather build my own. Maybe there’s people that don’t build and rely totally on downloads, I guess they might spend a lot of time with something.
Yeah I’m not sure how much orientation matters in space, Prograde is prograde etc. Might be wrong.
Learning Vizzy is about way more than Vizzy, look up control systems engineering... ouch. I think it could be a long term goal but even doing really simple stuff is still fun.

@huuminberd - thanks - it makes me wonder how many people actually fly the crafts, it is rare to see a comment about the workings of any upload...maybe they like to set them out like a car show. but, i havent found a downside to using the rocket config, for the planes that operate in space also...but i need to try the vizzy more, to see how useful the nav sphere heading is...always more questions to test

Nothing wrong with a long description, sometimes dread the idea of posting something complicated because I think there should be a 1000 word essay to go with it... As if anyone’s going to read it anyway LOL. Good work.
