The RS-56 is a variant of the RS-27, this was made for use on the atlas launchers and comes in two variants, OBA, and OSA. OBA was for use as the two side engines on the stage 1.5 system. they were made to have better SL isp than the center sustanier engine since they would spend most of their time firing in the lower atmosphere. OSA is the center sustainer engine and has a poor SL isp but a better Vac isp than the OBA counterpart.
