Backstory
In 1963 through 1971, 3 F-104As were turned from their stock condition and into experimental testbeds. These served as cheap astronaut training platforms, and they also were test beds for some of the first RCS controls (originally was going to be done to the Bell X-1)
This aircraft had a 5,000 IbF rocket strapped on the tail, along with an elongated vertical stabilizer, and the good 'ole J79 turbojet. She could fly at Mach 2.2 at 20,000 feet, and could actually control itself in space, which the original F-104 could not (F-104 could, however, enter suborbital flight. Still is in use as Civilian spaceflights today in Florida)
Chuck Yeager actually flew (and destroyed lol) one of these beasts. All in all, an amazing plane
Controls
- AG 2 = Canopy
- AG 4 = Rocket Booster
- AG 8 = LG
- AG 10 = RCS Activation
Now, this is literally the first thing I have ever built in this game. Feedback is appreciated and welcomed. A simple "this sucks" will be ignored, but felt. I have played SimplePlanes for almost a year now, so... yeah
Next up is a B-47, complete with possibly a bomb bay, and the 9 JATO rockets!
I hope y'all enjoy!

You're a legend for making this man. Was fun retrofitting a solid booster on this baby.
