The Delta III was a space launch vehicle operated by the US Air Force from 1998-2000. It was derived from the Delta II. Its first stage used one RS27A engine. The second stage used one RL10B-2 engine. Also, 9 GEM 46 boosters were attached to the sides of the first stage. Instead of all 9 boosters igniting on the ground, only 6 of them were ignited on the ground, and the other 3 were vacuum-optimized and only ignited after the first 6 were jettisoned. The fairing was mounted on top of the second stage, and the payload sat inside the fairing.

Very nice action with the staging, interesting interstage , unique as far as I know, was that mostly as a solution to the extended nozzle? I am nearly 100% that this is accurate due to your normal attention to detail. Really nice one here!
