For those who've seen me over on SP, i have made a fictional company called DX Aerospace which makes a variety of mostly jet aircraft for primarily military but also civilian usage. I decided to name this one as DX-SR2 as it is my first DX-branded aircraft in the game. I'd say it's my first decent craft that i've made (i made it well before the SV80 and CH)...or is it?
Overall, i don't really know where i was going with this one. It's kind of like a mix between a spy and scout plane, although mostly the latter i guess.
Controls:
AG1: Toggles the jet engines on/off
AG2: Toggled the rocket engines on/off
AG3: Gyroscope and RCS toggle. Reccommended to switch this on
AG4: Lights on/off
AG5: Thrust reverser for jet engines
AG6: Parachute, as usual
AG7: Detaches the drop tank thingy
AG8: Landing gear, as usual
AG9: Solar panels, if you need them
AG10: Afterburner for jet engines.
Other features:
- Damage model with a mix of both the nearly indestructible nature of the SV80 and the "hit something mildly and it explodes" of most other crafts. Parts like the engine nozzles, lights, or other things can break off, but hard enough hits will still destroy larger pieces.
- Really wacky flight model. Most of the time, the engines will be underpowered, so i reccommend taking off with jet+afterburner, and rocket if needed. Once airborne and a decent height above the ground, turn off rockets and wait until you get to a good speed. You can then disable AB's and let it fly with the basic jet engines alone.
- 3D thrust vectoring nozzles for rocket engines and afterburners. Automatically enabled when using rocket engines (AG2)
- While making this, i decided to name almost every part. Don't ask me why, but hey at least it makes finding things a bit easier.
...and that's basically it.
