Back in ye olde days, when there wasn't a crew requirement for Village Air Race and Cutting Corners Air Race, you could just slap together an unmanned lawn dart and race through the course, and just blow up at the end.

Well, now in ye moderne times, I was determined to get all of the optional tech points for crewed contracts. So I built this ugly lawn dart to do it.

Disclaimer: I suck at making jets, and I suck at flying. So I made this as simple and stable as possible. Not counting labels, there are only 20 parts.

I was able to run Cutting Corners at about Mach 1.2 for most of the way, and finished in 4 minutes flat (actually 3:57). Oh, and don't worry about trying to stick the landing, this jet stops the same way as the space shuttle - with parachutes. You can deploy the chutes mid-air and just fall to the ground lawn dart style.

Tips:
- Recover the craft as soon as the nose touches the ground. If you wait, it'll tip over onto it's back and the cockpit will probably explode.
- Install whatever engine you have the tech points for. It'll fly with any jet engine. If you use a larger engine, you may also need to increase the inlet width (if your inlet efficiency drops below 100%), and increase wing thickness to prevent them from snapping off.
- She's stable on the turns, but the nose tends to be a little floaty. You can try adding a little fuel to the nose to see if that helps. Or add a little down trim (about +5% pitch should do it).
- I wouldn't recommend flying this on without slow-mo... I honestly don't know how anyone could have the reflexes to crank these races on normal speed.

Thanks for giving it a try! Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions.
