Take an SR-91, double its amount of jet engines, strap on some rockets, and a fusion motor, and you've got yourself an XR-101. Unlike its predecessor, this aircraft can reach near orbital speeds in less than one flight around Droo. Once you get to mach 9.5, you have the option of utilizing the rocket engines or the fusion motors. I recommend the fusion engines, you may be better off saving the rockets for orbital docking. Oh.. and I forgot to mention this SSTO is also equipped with a docking port, solar panels, and RCS thrusters!

Managed to attain a maximum speed of 4,639 m/s at 31.4km. About Mach 13.2. After a while my device began to run slower and passing the space center I had to actually pitch down in order to slow down the vehicle as stopping the engines would’ve put it in a 5000km+ suborbital trajectory. It still proved that you could achieve flight without lift at those altitudes by attaining a speed fast enough to gain altitude from the curvature of a planet but not fast enough to get a full orbit. Took some extreme balance to avoid being slown by denser air in the lower atmosphere when pitching down and from being shot into space by pitching up. On additional note: the rocket engines were pretty short lasting, but the fusion engines are fantastic when combined with the scramjets to achieve the speed I got.
