In 2011, the Artemis project was begun. Its purpose is to get humans back to the Moon and eventually to Mars through the use of the powerful Space Launch System (SLS). With more thrust than the mighty Saturn V, the SLS launched on November 16, 2022, for an unmanned mission around the Moon. On November 2024, NASA hopes to launch the first crewed flight of the SLS around the Moon. (Read More...)
I heavily based the SimpleLaunchSystem off the SLS. For a smooth launch: hit stage 1 with full throttle (it will sit on the pad for a couple seconds, like the real SLS), then start out steep until booster separation and from there fly it like a normal rocket! I did "steal" the abort system and capsule from the SimpleBeast.
Enjoy this engineering marvel!
