So I've just fixed the issue (two of the engines were tied to regular throttle) and checked the AGs; 4 is the submarine props, and 5 is the VTOL engines. Can fly at ~850 m/s in level flight at ~1000m.
I'm surprised at how little the VTOL engines affect drag!

Actually, I made a BIG mistake. This thing can fly at Mach 2.52, and the original craft can fly at exactly Mach 3.00. Makes sense because I added 3 engines, 4 vortex engines, and a fairly large gyro! 🤣
(Tested between 500-1000m above sea level)
