A fully functional ornithopter that relies solely on wing motion to produce thrust and lift.
Thrust controls the frequency of beats while Translate Up controls magnitude and positive/negative direction.
Translate Forward in Thrust Director mode controls which direction thrust is aimed at, which is 180 degrees forwards or backwards, in Glide-Sweep mode controls the sweep of the wings.
Upstroke enables the wings having positive dihedral, which helps with stability and thrust.
Slider 1 increases down stroke, which increases thrust immensely, its inadvisible to use it unless at high altitude or with heavy loading, which prevents the craft from becoming unstable.
Fold allows the wings to fold up when not in use, and laser designator turns on the laser designator attached to the automatic target tracking pod with NV and Day Cam.
The craft is inherently unstable, and while not hard to fly, any right/left component of velocity will cause a feedback loop to cause the aircraft to roll that way. While it is easy to manage, if it gets too hard, simply lowering Translate Up or making it 0 and then adjusting the aircraft before throttling up translate up solves the problem.
Going above 50 m/s at lower altitudes is not recommended, but higher altitudes does allow for higher speeds.
Max Takeoff Weight is 19.4 Tonnes, only possible with full down stroke (Slider 1 +1), and Max Altitude is 6800 Meters, Max Safe Speed At Sea Level is 60 Meters/Second.
Updates:
Increased the overall thrust and also brought the wings higher relative to center of mass, increased mass of the craft, added underside docking port for any transportation purposes, the max altitude is around 17000 m’s and max speed is around 80-90 m/s, and its easier to handle now.
