@aircoolbro21 I'm not sure if this is such an improve in optimization, this will remove some attachment points and part collision calculations, but not the renderization of the models.
The benefits of using this are easier work in editor, better subassemblies packs with complex parts that don't break and smaller files for the subassemblies packs -

damn, this could open up a whole load of possibilities for mobile players, ofc when mobile comes out for this game. people with low end devices will be able to have the most optimized crafts with this trick, sorry im tired if i got any of that wrong

@WNP78 btw, I asked Nathan for relative rotation and relative displacement attributes inside fuselage, so we could merge any combination of tanks, struts, fairings interstages and inlets

@WNP78 I've used it in some cases to reduce part count. This shouldn't be buggy, I've tested it quite a lot and works fine. The problem is that tinker and the curve/offset tool work a bit weird.
You can kind of rotate them 90° apart by making one fuselage 12 and the other 21 for example. Offsets may be useful to make complex shapes too
Making any part a control unit is quite useful, you can delete the crew cabin and make custom ones, for example

Well... Not sure how helpful this could be but this is not a use case that will have been accounted for, so expect bugs. Also you can't really offset any of them so it's not very useful for making more advanced subassemblies. But that's some good out of the box thinking.

I hope this is added in a proper GUI form, so that we can make small sub-assemblies that don't break apart when we want to move them around

@t4zcomz having multiple fuselages. Other than that, nope
