Holding the Simplerockets Vanilla record, the Twin-Engine Hypersonic Aerosystems test (TEHAST)
!Very difficult to control at low airspeeds!

Max. Mach: 5.85 @ 33,000M
Fastest 0-Mach 3 of any vanilla
fastest Rate of climb (or shortest time) to reach 40,000Ms
highest altitude of 47,000M(sustained)

If anyone can or has made something faster I honestly want to see it. there isn't much else in-game you can make faster.

@thepilotman no need to make another one without negative bypass. I was just curious on how you did it. I was wondering if it was an old engine or if my game was outdated.

The only thing that isn't realistic with the negative bypass is the mach 0-1.8 acceleration. without a shockwave in the inlet, this engine produces probably 1/2 of the thrust. that's why most real hypersonic vehicles are launched from a B-52 with rocket assistance

Yes, but that's hardly cheating. It's the same as using the tinker pannel to get 9.46 comp ratio. A negative bypass IS what a ram jet is. all it is doing is decreasing the engine's effective intake size, and lowering the front fan's impact on thrust. in short, the engine gets bigger, but the fan does not. this is entirely possible in the real world. If you so desire, I could probably make one as fast without this feature, but it would make less sense, be less practical, and further from reality

Did you use the tinker panel to get a negative bypass?

@thepilotman How did you get negative bypass?

It's got two very large engines, and a fuselage designed for high-speed lift. Basically, you have to balance the weight of the fuselage with the engines, and build the whole craft with an intention to fly at 5+ degrees angle of attack. The engines are 9.5X compression Ratio, and the bypass is -.2x to sim a ramjet.
