When re entering the atmosphere, the heatshield will protect you and remember to activate the RCS to assist the elevons in maintaining a 45 degree angle or so, if you find your descent is too shallow and you are heading to 'skip off' the atmosphere, roll left so the lift acts laterally instead of vertically.
