Ion Pod is a general-purpose spacecraft for various orbital tasks, from moving personnel between orbital stations and interplanetary flights to moon landings. Relatively cheap, easy to control. Carries 1 astronaut.
To make it's usage even easier, it comes with
Planetary Autopilot v1.0
This programm is designed for automated landings and lift-offs, in case you don't want to pilot pod yourself. Current version of programm is designed for moons or non-atmospheric planets. It's not working good with atmosphere yet, so I don't advice to try using it there, also considering the pod can't operate in atmosphere.

Auto landing mode might struggle when your TWR is less than 1.6.
Command pod can be detached and used as escape/descend pod if needed. Capsule has parachutes and a small amount of fuel for course corrections.
For some reason, capsule is not very stable during atmosphere flight, increase proportional setting on max on autopilot to stabilize.
There are other versions of this pod planned, such as atmosphere lander and cargo pod, they will be released later.
