Small historical background
The Yak-15 (NATO reporting name: Feather, originally Type 2) was the first jet fighter adopted by the Soviet Air Force. Developed on the basis of the Yak-3, it made its first flight on April 24, 1946. In 1946-1947, 280 aircraft were built.
In the Soviet Air Force, the Yak-15 was considered a transitional aircraft and was used only to retrain flight personnel from piston fighters to jet fighters.
