A military variant of the PIA series, the TCIA-32 was designed and built to carry troops from one planet to another. This lighter variant of the medium sized PIA craft is powered by 4 ion jet hybrid engines, and one vacuum ion engine to stabilize the aircraft in space. Each of the 4 hybrid engines can rotate up to 180 degrees, allowing for both vertical and reverse thrust. To rotate these engines, use slider 1. This aircraft also has a ramp that allows the soldiers to quickly get to the ground. To use this ramp, first open the soldier bay doors. Then activate the soldier ramp activation group and then set slider 2 to 100 percent to lower the ramp.

@Latiif88 I used the ion engines from the Valkyrie shuttle. These engines are modded. Feel free to use them.

I can't figure how you made a so powerful ion engine. I love it!!
I would like your permission to use it on another craft.

@TopSecret2 I never even noticed the inverted roll on the PIA and XIA planes. I usually fly with the navball so I usually just optimize my planes so they don’t wobble too much on the autopilot. I may have accidentally made the roll inverted to stabilize the navball flight in the atmosphere. As for the Center of Thrust during landing, I would just turn off the rear ion engine. It works well for space flight but becomes a problem during vertical takeoff and landing. I was thinking of making it into a separate action group but I ran out of action groups. I would just make the rear ion engine part of the “interior lights” action group and rename that action group “rear ion engine”. That way you could turn it off just before landing.

I’m still in absolute disbelief about how you managed to kill two of the most prevalent issues in your SSTO series using the rotating ion engines: slowing down from supersonic speed to subsonic and from subsonic flight during final approach to a vertical flight! The final issue (a somewhat minor one) would probably be the roll control inversion at 0.5 mach which had existed since the first closed winged SSTO you made. For this it is definitely occurring slower than the typical 230-280m/s at roughly 130-170 m/s. But it is still bordering perfection.

Edit: Still a pain in the donkey to VTOL land though. Breaks and falls over because the COT seems off, eg. When reverse thrust is applied while landing VTOL on Droo, craft tends to pitch down.
