This is a recreation of the MiG-17 Soviet fighter jet. This one took me alot longer than my previous MiG-9 recreation. However, i think it's significantly better looking and more accurate than my MiG-9 recreation thanks to the experience i have gained since.
This recreation features:
-Realistic airbrakes. When engaged, the airbrakes separate from the fuselage, revealing the inside of the fuselage, like in the real MiG-17.
-Realistic wings. The wings have been modeled as close to reality as i could. Down to their sweep angle. The inboard portion of the wings feature a 45 degree sweep while the outboard portion feature a 42 degree sweep. In addition, each wing features 3 wing fences and some hardpoints. They also feature a 3 degree anhedral angle just like in real life.
-Realistic canopy. Unlike my previous recreation, the MiG-9, the canopy of this one is more accurate. It features the frontal armored-panel that makes the MiG-17 canopy so recognizable and the mechanism to open/close the canopy is also similar to real life.
-More detail. I made an effort to make this craft good looking, unlike my previous recreation. I also wanted to keep the part count as low as possible because i think it fits JNO's style better when recreations are not so complex as to crash your game.
Aircraft performance:
-Take-off speed: ~85 m/s
-Max speed: 310 m/s (1116 KPH) vs 1114 KPH for real MiG-17.
-Turn speed: ~15 seconds or 12 degrees/s
Controls:
Basic flight controls + Slider 1 (positive axis) for flaps (100% = 45 degrees).
Sorry for the bland pictures. I couldn't figure out how to get Parallax to work with the in-game screenshot thing so trees, grass and other details just didn't appear on the photos after i took them. The pictures looked infinitely better with Parallax. Sorry about that.
This is great
