Use with Salyut-6
In June 1979, the Progress-7 spacecraft delivered the KRT-10 radiotelescope to the Salyut-6 space station, where the telescope was deployed by cosmonauts and operated from July 18 to August 9, 1979. The KRT-10 features a 10-m mirror antenna assembled in situ from separate sections and is designed to receive weak signals in the 12-cm and 72-cm bands. From an altitude of 400 km, the resolution of the telescope with respect to the earth is 7 km in the 12-cm band. Radiotechnical, astrophysical, and geophysical experiments carried out with KRT-10 are briefly discussed.
