Auto Credit Based on CaveatEmperor's Sea Dragon (DTC07)
Sea Dragon (manual for simplerockets 2)
Rocket qualities
Launch from land or sea! Massive 300 metric ton payload lift to LEO. Plenty of cargo space - you won’t believe it until you see it. Hand crafted to match reference specifications from NASA.
Quick payload
There is plenty of room at the bow and a docking port. Usually, a dummy payload is attached to the docking port. You may remove this and put your payload instead.
Quick flight
- At 100m/s, yaw (100% if land; -100% if sea) and pitch (0% if land; 48% if sea)
- 700m/s, yaw and pitch to 0% and opt rcs off
- full throttle and when ready, stage 2 main engine (ie the next stage after separation)
- set course to horizon (0 degrees inclination) and wait 240s or 2500m/s
Restoration comments
- after the above sequence I had 8% fuel left
- it’s fairly balanced and challenging at this point
- the payload is heavier than reference documents at 500 vs 300 metric tons
- we haven’t added a nozzle flair package for the first stage sea recovery - our engineering team doesn’t understand plastics (material sciences)
Warranty
Zilch.
