Single Stage to Orbit plane that can fly into an near perfect orbit roughly 100-230km above Droo. Inspired by Kell's Stock SSTO. I tried to design this to obey real world mechanics and whatnot. Like parts that are clipped into each other aren't at 100% fuel and mass because IRL that would be impossible. TLDR; this design theoretically would work IRL (if Earth were the same size as Droo). Only other tinker panel things I messed with were heat shields and max temps, for obvious reasons.
Most of the flight is already programmed. You just have to initiate the take off sequence yourself. Once in orbit you should have about 10-15% rocket fuel and 15-20% jet fuel. Parachutes should automatically deploy when you come in for landing and your gears touch the ground.
Launch sequence:
1. Activate group 1
2. Keep Halo aligned on runway
3. Set pitch to 35
It'll roll off the runway but thats fine it'll eventually take off. Once it reaches 500m elevation, the program should take over from there. I'll include further instructions in case the flight program isn't included in the upload or if it just doesn't work for you.
- At 500m elevation, set pitch to 0 and deactivate group 8
- When velocity reaches 650 m/s, set pitch to 45
- When AGL reaches 15000m, set pitch to 40 and activate groups 2 and 10
- At AGL 30000m, deactivate group 1
- When you run out of fuel, activate group 3 and deactivate group 2
- At apoapsis of 100km, set pitch to 0 and throttle to 50%
- At AGL 80000m, throttle to 0%
- 15 seconds from apoapsis, set pitch to 10 and throttle to 100%
- When you reach velocity of 2500 m/s, set pitch to 0
- When you reach velocity of 3000 m/s, set pitch to -10
- When your periapsis is higher than 65000m, throttle to 0%
- When you are 30 seconds out from apoapsis, lock onto prograde and throttle to 15%
- When your apoapsis and periapsis are pretty close, throttle to 0%
- Activate group 9 and deactivate group 10
Then you're in orbit! All in one stage. Included a docking port in case anyone wants to refuel and take this thing to Luna or wherever. Have fun.
