The ISA Super Locust was developed as a research aircraft for high-speed testing. It could be easily modified for any of the research stations needs. The airframe of the Super Locust was shared with the Locust, Firefly, and Grasshopper series of research aircraft.
During the Kellan conflict, the Super Locust was modified into a high altitude interceptor and landed on skis instead of landing gear due to the high armarment for bomber hunting. Later, iterations with a night radar would be developed.
The Super Locust had two extra engines directly behind the main engines and ran the propellers in a push-pull fashion. The Super Locust was also developed with a frontal landing gear, unlike other aircraft of the time, which had a tail gear.
