This is what I built for the challenge. Fuel management and a good gravity turn are critical.
Adjust your TWR to be around 1.6 as altitude is gained.
Aim for an apoapsis of just over 60 KM.
After separating, Circularise orbit.
Now use small bursts at apoapsis and periapsis until you are over the 100 KM goal.
