(This is all made up as usual). In 2004, after a number of Martian and the first lunar landings, the UK needed a more reliable version of its E1 rocket, for that they chose a design by newly founded Skyrora for the lander. This version was topped on the E1 launch vehicle but the Ion drives where improved and tampered to attatch onto the Martian drag resistance flaps or the side boosters of the lander. This gave the craft quicker landing times and, because Skyrora developed Ion tech, the booster acctually has strontium drives. These acctualy have a bright red flame accompanied by higher Ion output and more efficency. The universal coupler inbetween the capsule and lander also allowed for cargo to be attatched. This model of lander is now used near-daily to ferry astronauts around the moon.
