Long March 1 (Code: CZ-1/LM-1) is a three-stage carrier rocket developed by China in the early 1970s. It was designed to launch China's first artificial earth satellite. The first and second stages of the Long March 1 use liquid fuel engines, and the third stage uses solid fuel engines. Development of the rocket began in 1965; On April 24, 1970, the first launch successfully put the DFH-1 into orbit; The second launch, on 3 March 1971, successfully placed the Shih I scientific experiment satellite into orbit. As the first generation of the first type of carrier rocket developed by China, the Long March 1 launched the prelude to China's entry into space and made China the fifth space power in the world to develop and launch artificial satellites on its own.
