Mankalian Mars probe in India

In August 2012, Indian Prime Minister Singh announced the launch plan with a budget of 4.5 billion rupees (about 73 million US dollars). The Mars rover is expected to orbit the earth for 20 to 25 days, and then will enter a 9-month journey to Mars. It is 365 kilometers from the nearest point on the surface of Mars and 80,000 kilometers from the farthest point.

At 2:38 pm on November 5, 2013 (5:08 pm Beijing time), the "Mangarian" was launched at the Srihrigoda Space Launch Site. The polar-orbiting satellite launch vehicle equipped with the Mars probe sent the "Mangarian" into an elliptical orbit around the earth after nearly 45 minutes of flight.

From November 6th to 9th, 11th and 16th, 2013, the "Mangarian" will undergo six orbit upgrades and enter a higher orbit. The entire process will fly more than 200 million kilometers and have a range of 780 million kilometers. The probe will analyze the morphology, minerals and atmosphere of Mars, especially looking for evidence of methane.

On September 24, 2014, India ’s first Mars rover, Mangarian, will arrive on Mars, which is expected to make India the first Asian country to successfully launch a probe to Mars.

On the morning of September 24, 2014, the Indian "Mangarian" rover successfully entered Mars orbit, and India became the fourth country or organization in the world to successfully conduct Mars exploration.
