Manufacturing unit and service time
Long March 2E (code: CZ-2E, short for: Changerbundle) is a large two-stage strap-on launch vehicle developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation in the early 1990s.
Constitute
The first and second core stages of the Long March II E rocket are extended 4.6 meters and 5.2 meters respectively on the basis of the Long March II C rocket, and are composed of four liquid rocket boosters bundled in the first stage. The rocket was launched in December 1988 and successfully launched for the first time from Xichang Satellite Launch Center on July 16, 1990. The rocket is primarily designed to launch low Earth orbit (LEO) payloads. With a suitable upper stage, it can launch satellites such as medium-low orbit and geosynchronous transfer orbit.
Honor earned
The successful development of the Long March 2E rocket is the first time that China has broken through the booster bundling technology and successfully developed 36 key technologies such as propellant utilization system and large launch pad, which has played an important role in promoting China's carrier rockets to enter the international launch service market.Learn more
