The Delta II was a space launch vehicle that flew from 1989-2018. Originally, the Delta II was operated by the US Air Force, but starting in 2006, it was operated by ULA. The Delta II had many different configurations, but this craft is based on the 7920H-10C. Its first stage used one RS27A engine. The second stage used one AJ10 engine. Also, 9 GEM 46 boosters were attached to the sides of the first stage. Instead of all 9 boosters igniting on the ground, only 6 of them were ignited on the ground, and the other 3 were vacuum-optimized and only ignited after the first 6 were jettisoned. The fairing was mounted on top of the second stage, and the payload sat inside the fairing.
