CERES Mk-1 P.O.D. (Planetary Offensive Deployment) System

CERES Aerospace is pleased to present our introductory craft.

The CERES Mk-1 Planetary Offensive Deployment (P.O.D.) comes with a standard payload of two Nightchaser Reconnaissance Vehicles (N.R.V.) accessible for individual launch from the P.O.D. cargo bay (activation 4).

Equipped with docking ports, both N.R.V.’s can provide forward observations, are fully reusable, and able to redock with its mothership (P.O.D) or any other capable craft. N.R.V.’s can land on smooth ground in case of fuel depletion. The N.R.V.’s fight profile allows for a smooth glide home to Droo or with some finesse and limited fuel consumption, Cyclero.

The N.R.V. Launch Pad extends from the cargo bay with activation 6 and slider 2 (S2 NRV Launch) and provides stability for N.R.V. launch from ground level or orbit. Generated N.R.V. thrust provides ability to launch from orbit for extended uses or from ground level with limited range. Not a suitable SSTO vehicle. Not suggested for launch during atmospheric flight.

After POD is stable and the NRV launch pad is extended, select the docks connecting the POD and disconnect. Select any part on the NRV and take control of the craft. You now have control of the selected Nightchaser Reconnaissance Vehicle. Activation Groups are labeled for clear use (RCS is connected to engines for NRV’s). Landing gears have been strengthened for less than norminal approaches. Use at your discretion and have fun with orbital docking 😊.

When deployment is complete, deorbit your selected planetary body and land the POD. Built in landing struts have been installed in the engine compartments for cushioned landings. (R&D still in process). This feature can be used by selecting activation 2 and extended with slider 1 (S1 POD Legs).
