GLAST was a Gamma-Ray Observatory designed to explore Gamma-Ray Bursts and more. A few months after launch, it was renamed the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope, in honor of Enrico Fermi. It was launched on a Delta II 7920H-10 to orbit. It actually avoided a decommissioned spy satellite by using it's thrusters for the 1st time for a second in 2012.
