@PlanesofJundroo yea. a solid core is cool but kind of hard as you can't gamble it. solid side boosters are the best when you are running your main engines at a lower power as well to stabilize. however, it isn't impossible to use a solid core, I've done it. (I'll post it someday) but you just need a ** ton of SRB engines to get off the pad. because SRB fuel is so heavy, there is an endless cycle of: too wide of a tank, too much weight-and then too thin of a tank, and not enough space too put the engines. the only solution is to shorten the tank, which makes it pointless, as you will only have enough DV to get to a few thousand meters before you will have to jettison your first stage and start your second. my opinion? try, try, and try again.
