I actually figured it out! I am not sure this is the "right" way to do it, but it worked for me. In order to download a new planetary system, in my case, the real solar system with parallax, I went to the vehicle editor ("Build"), clicked on the upper left "MENU" button, and then on "DOWNLOAD CRAFTS." This opened to the community contributed craft available on the website through a browser within the Steam overlay, and once there, I clicked "CONTENT>SYSTEMS" which opened the community contributed planetary systems available for download. When I clicked "DOWNLOAD" button this time, a progress window opened in the game, under the Steam overlay, and when it finished it displayed a message to the effect of "Start a new game to use this new system." I did so, and selected the newly downloaded system from the in-game menu. I launched a plane from Cape Canaveral, so I’m pretty confident this is the right planet. I hope this helps anyone who may be looking for this answer in the future!
