To keep a Airplane flying you can lock the current heading and make the pitch higher so it stays at a set altitude, You also have to keep the throttle at a set percentage.
I do 100% until I reach 30k feet then do about 90% to 70% thrust.
Then when your happy as you exit the game click save flight and bam. It's there when you want to use it.
