Today is the 1 year anniversary of the 1.0 update of Juno: New Origins!
During this year the game has kept evolving and improving, including a collaboration with the European Space Agency and the development of the Juno Parallax mod by Linx, one of the most talented modders in the genre.
We are now starting 2024, the year of Ariane 6, Vulcan, New Glenn, Starship, Europa Clipper and many other jaw dropping missions. This is set to be one of the most important years in the history of aerospace, and we wondered how we could contribute to it.
For this we are glad to announce a new version of Juno: New Origins can be found in the App Store and GooglePlay, including most content in the game for free with the rest of the content divided in 3 bundles and an option to remove ads. We are keeping the existing version of the game available for those that prefer a one time purchase and if you have already bought the game or play on PC, this won't affect you at all.
Why this? You may wonder. After seeing the idea thrown around the community for years and how well this model works in other games we thought it could be beneficial for both the game and our community:
- We hope this more approachable version of the game will reach those that will become the engineers of the future
- We often see people asking for a demo version of the game, and well, this is it. You can play a lot of the content the game has to offer before doing any purchase, to decide if you like it or not, and only buy the bits of the game you are interested in
- Our community can only benefit from people joining (more activity in the website and discord, more crafts shared, more upvotes, more views on youtube...) and hopefully this influx of people will help fund even more and better updates
In case it isn't obvious, our intention is not to start releasing bundles for every update, 1.3 will be starting its beta testing next month and other future updates will still be included in all the versions of the game without having to pay more for it. This doesn't mean we won't ever do a DLC, but it is not currently in our plans, so it's not happening any time soon if at all.
We have put a lot of thought on getting this right, with the community in mind, trying to give as much for free as possible and pricing things in a sensible way. We know other games have muddied the water, so we are testing right now this new version to hear from you.
The feedback from the people testing it so far seems to confirm we have gone in the right direction, but we want to hear from you all before fully releasing it, so we have started an open beta on both:
Testflight - https://testflight.apple.com/join/5SRK7rgD
PlayStore - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jundroo.junoneworigins
PS: This app will be a new app in your phone, its files are stored in a different folder so anything you do here won't affect your existing crafts and sandboxes in any way.
wow good to me
請問為什麼現在的test flight測試結束了? 現在你們是否在開發1.4版本?
If you’re saying next month, does that mean late February to early/mid March? Also, I can’t wait to see what there is. The past few updates (1.0, 1.1, and 1.2) have been great, and I believe that 1.3 will be the same! Keep up the good work Jundroo/The dev team!
@Pedro you should put like balloons and stuff in the game that would be sick
@AndrewGarrison oh and another thing, the ability to set custom names for astronauts (droods) and the recently added tourists in Juno is gone? Custom as in you can literally type in your own custom name and set it as the astronaut name.
@AndrewGarrison After doing some research, turns out the “lifetime” value which determines how long the bullets last after leaving the gun, crashes SimplePlanes if it’s over a certain number, usually 4000. If the craft has more parts, it can crash at 3000 or less. This never happened before. And it only happens on iOS.
@SRSSA if you have this mod for mobile, then that would use another 2gb of storage on the phone, and you need at least like 8gb ram on that device, plus, u need a good igpu to even get 20 fps of something
@Heiko1109 as stated multiple times in this post and in the comments (literally my last comment) if you own the game, this doesn't affect you. Just run the Complete Edition, no need to install the free version.
@Pedro alright no worries
@blakestar68 it is stated in this post and multiple times in the comments. If you already have the game this won't affect you, it's not even the same app.
@Pedro I payed money when this game came out so I better have everything or we will have legal problems
I payed money for the game so I better get everything or I am going to be pissed
I payed money for this game and now I have to pay more this is bullshit who came up with this
@Pedro oh ok thanks
@Buddycat if you own the complete edition, you won't see any ads, they are only in the free version
No plz do not ad adds plz I paid £7 for this game 2 years ago and it is so great, plz, I do not want such a Brilliant game to be ruined by adds

One question, have you ever thought about making a satellite antenna or something similar with the Droon ComLinks
We want parallax mod for mobile
@Pedro but, now the game crashes when I try to validate planet orbits, and it chooses to.
@Pedro and also, in the 1.3 update a parachute bug is fixed, that bug needs to be fixed for me to upload one of my crafts, so when 1.3? And when are you going to implement clouds into the game?
edit: I fixed the game crashing. One person gave me advice to set it down to 60% and that fixed everything. Except for one where the game crashes when I flip through my camera roll when in flight, and it chooses to…
Also how can I just enter spaces in lines without the underscores to separate sentences? I can only do that with formatting.
@Pedro ok, so I’m not buying the demo edition since I already have the complete edition.
@PZLAgencies the name is just "Juno: New Origins", and yes, once you buy all the bundles you have the same game as "Juno: New Origins Complete Edition"
What’s the name of the new game? Also if you purchase all the bundles and remove ads, would it be the same as the complete edition that everyone has?
@Pedro @AndrewGarrison thanks
