This Planet takes the place of Mercury, and is tidally locked to its parent star. A combination of the tidal forces opening volcanic vents spewing magma and ammonia and the intense radiation from it's parent star has created a magma filled ammonia-atmosphere burnt wastland in the day, with a freezing cratered glacier highland in the night.
For once I also got the tempurature to a somewhat realistic amount, that being 472 F / 245 C in the day and -273 F / -170 C at night.
Also bcs in the system it'll be tidally locked to the sun, you wont ever see the glacier highlands in daylight like in the pictures.

Remember when people thought that Mercury was tidally locked? Me neither.
By the way, you should copy-paste Pedro's lava into your XML so it glows and stuff!
@HyperPatch I actually figured out that setting the water shader to a number above 1 makes it glow, so I made a better version with glowing lava and better terrain
