I really wish transparent parts had no shadows. I know if you are trying to make this 100% accurate you'd need colored shadows for colored transparent parts etc... but just a feature that removes the shadow completly once the part is 100% transparent would be completly awesome from my view.
It is really frustrating when you want to hide a part that is a root for everything, for example, but it still casts a shadow on your craft and makes it look weird.

Note by pedro16797: Ideally, it should have a tinker option to enable shadows that is automatically unticked when the part is made fully transparent

Suggestion Done Fixed in 0.9.906

Great idea! I have a suggestion to add to this: the more transparent the part gets, the fainter the shadow gets. That would be great for windows.

Anyone noticed that cargo bay textures and colors are broken in this update? The inside of the cargo bay always ends up being the same texture and color as the outside. It seems to have broken in the last update probably when the team made smoothing better.

Fun fact: cargo bay doors and transparent paint can be used to make one-way glass
