Hello There! And welcome everyone, to my first suggestion. I promise not to disappoint!
Introduction:
Many players have been amazed at the wonders of this incredible game, but quickly get bored before even starting. I think this post, aswell as some other great ones can lay out a clear path toward making the game more engaging and enjoyable.
How to Build a Base
Part I: The Basics
This Part is simple. Instead of making players go literally insane trying to make detailed space stations with non functional mechanics that make them thousands of parts, add a new tab in the part selection thingy You know what I’m talking about That let’s a player build actual functioning space stations, with a purpose.
Part II.1 How do we design these again?
I probably should have put this first. Oh well! This process will use the standard way of manipulating engines, wings, fuel tanks, etc... Players can select size, what type of module, what terrain it is adapted to, and module specific things like gravity rings for a area quaters or a select number of plants on a biology module!
Part II.2. MFD’s have a better use now!
MFD’s are no doubt one of the best addition to the game as we know it, up there with Droods and Planet studio. That can truly bring interiors of a craft to life! I propose that we can use MFD’s in game for controlling aspects of Space Station and Surface bases one can with Interactive aspects of Space Agency 2138. (Shown in pictures below). There could be an option in the design editor to change the positioning of main flight computers, life support (we will get to that later), and docking port commands. The parts will control specific crucial sections of a particular module, that come pre-selected and cannot be changed or removed.

Part III: Right, but, How do we build these without launching them?
Simple! The way to build these bases is quick and easy. Each module has a custom amount or resources it needs to be constructed depending on it’s aspects. These can be constructed Via a Base Building Module You might need Iron to make steel, Water to make rocket fuel, and other things. All Space station and Space Bases need some way to be fully self sufficient, meaning that all resorces needed to keep the space place going, can be produced. On bases of Sergeaa for example, you might be able to mine some Glauconite (the most likely material that would look and behave like Sergeaa) and convert that into iron and other necessary building materials. For your base. In space stations, you can recycle all the water that you use and... uhm... Expel from the Drood’s body.
Part IV: Life Support
I will not go into too Much detail here, because there are already lots of other posts out there detailing such things. Basically, you will need to send Oxygen, water, and other necessities like food, to a space place where you can construct a biology module to produce food, Oxygen, and recycle all water. Easy stuff. Stasis chambers might also be a good idea so our Droods don’t die of radiation poisoning, Starvation, etc...
WE WILL NEED DOCKING PORTS WE CAN GO THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Part V: My Ideas on Building Modules.
If you can make out my Awful Handwriting, down below are sketches I made of concepts for Construction modules. Have fun.
Here, one can see my attempt to make a semi easy to look at and read sketch of my ideas. If you can’t make any out, I’ll be glad to clarify in the comments of this post. There is a small rover that 3-D prints stuff for construction.
Here we see an orbital variant. The weird arms on the side can flip around the building structure to place parts wherever they need.
This is it! Thank you for reading! Let’s try and make this real. Any good ideas and revisions I will pin in the comments. That’s all for now, Goodbye!
