Following the same logic as planet studio, you will be able to build your own space center to accommodate whatever you want.
-Runway/taxiway/launchpad editor
The length and width of runways/taxiways will be customization similar to how fuselages work. The price of this would increase/decrease accordingly. You will have different options for runways/launchpads (For ex. dirt, dark asphalt, worn asphalt, etc.) You can also customize the numbers and lights on the runways which can give your space center some flare and what not.
Buildings/structures.
Give players the ability to also add some different buildings! Even if they wouldn't serve a purpose until campaign mode comes out, we can still have an option to add them and make our sandboxes even more unique!. Varying satellite dishes, floor levels to buildings hangars, etc.
Grid-size nudging.
We can also have the option to slightly nudge every part of the center. (buildings, runways, roads, satellite dishes, etc.) along the Y axis, and allow users to rotate the entire place along the Z axis. (Not x or Y axis though, to keep the entire place level.) Would allow us to make longer runways, more launchpads, and then some.
(ADDED) Spawn point editor.
allow us to create our own spawn points within the vicinity of the space center. We can nudge the spawn point, see the spawn point direction and altitude. We will only be able to rotate the direction of the spawn point on a 2D axis.
If there are any additions to make this suggestion better, I'd love to hear it! So far I haven't seen much related to a customizable space center but I may be wrong.
Yesss!!
@StellaAgency Haha yes!
@pedro
@Mostly yeah the devs should talk with cities skylines devs so they can improve some things :)
and theres should fucntion like when you are building a rocket: symmetry, attach points, propertties...
This post has been merged with this post.
Weird, but okay
@SpaceSharkie201 This is not planet studio, it works more like how you would imagine putting things together in cities skylines (just as a comparison).
Technically, this is already a feature, but I assume you want to have a way of doing it easily so I won’t hold that against you
It would be easier if we have rotate tool in planet studio instead of typing the angles
For structures
@Mostly nice new pfp
@Mostly true, we'd need to make a new system in order to make new buildings.
@malumuteanaerospace @HermesEngineering The idea is to have this feature as something completely separate from planet studio. Plus a lot of the features in the suggestion aren't in the game.
We can now add buildings like VABs, Hangars, docks, and the like in planet studio
This needs to be added because it’s hard to get the building in the right place and direction
@pedro16797 have you seen kennnnnnnneth's post on SP? It's a mod that's basically a map, and it has 3d buildings (without physics). Maybe you could add something like that, since it barely takes up any cpu, gpu or RAM processing power.
Launch locations can already be customized in Planet Studio, but the other points sound interesting
Yes yes we need this. İ cant wait!
Cool
@McDuetchVan Maybe, but re-arranging things like the length of the runway and the size of launch pads would just get way too technical by having it in planet studio. Using something independent from that will allow everyone to be creative with planets or launch sites while making it more customizable.
I just think being able to upload custom structures to planet studio (which is currently impossible) would do this just fine, as if you wanted a new complex you could download a planet/system that used a custom launch site, and either add that to your own planet or just use the system it came with.
This could really be useful if it was implemented.
This is a great idea!
We could have cites then
I love this idea!
