In the morning of December 25th, 0M1CR0N Prototypes 10 and 20 lifted off, starting their mission to Cylero. The booster had a soft touchdown, and the ship made it to orbit. It rendezvoused with both Prototypes 18 and 19, refueled, and set sail for Cylero.
On January 8th (Don’t question the timeline), Prototype 20 arrived. This mission was successful all the way up until Cylero atmospheric entry. We anticipated having enough fuel to slow Prototype 20 down so it could aerobrake successfully. However, this wasn’t possible. Instead, it had to enter the atmosphere at a very extreme angle (Periapsis of 800 meters) in order to give it a chance at a landing. It lasted quite a while in the atmosphere. Many tiles overheated and melted due to speeds of over mach 15. It is suspected that a failure of one of the tiles near the liquid oxygen tank ripped open the tank. An RUD followed. The last picture was recovered just seconds after the failure, and seconds before the camera melted. On the right side, multiple pieces of heat tiles are seen.
