Description
This Refuel Tanker, when launched, uses the Vizzy Launch code to place the Tanker in a 130 Km by 130 Km Orbit. Waiting for the right moment, when the Manned Ship's Orbit crosses overhead, you will be launched in the same Orbital Plane as the Manned Ship.
The Manned Ship is programmed to be in a 160 Km by 160 Km Orbit. Let the Tanker catch up to Manned Ship. When you are 75 Km from the Manned Ship, prograde burn to 159 Km. If done with precision, you will rendezvous with the Manned Ship within 1 Km. Then Dock, refuel, separate and deorbit.

@RichGWall ah, "aerobrake", that was the term I was looking for, not bouncing.

@TomKerbal It takes about 5.0 km/sec to get from Mars surface to orbit. Approx 1.8 km/sec from Mars orbit to Earth. Maybe a bit more for a correction burn. But this relies on going straight into the Earth's atmosphere to aerobrake. Any other method would cost additional fuel for an Earth Capture burn and even with that anywhere between 1 km/sec and then 3 km/sec just to get to circularization. At that point we're at the 7800 m/sec in orbit.

@RichGWall Yeees, exactly :) Very interesting steps. How much Delta-v is necessary for the trip back to Earth ? Thinking of a 9 month trip (the 3 month trip is very interesting, too, but hard to achieve...). I will do that journey on my own of course in near future, looking forward to it.

@TomKerbal Thanks Tom. The only mission steps not uploaded would be the approach to Earth, Re-entry and then Parachutes.

@RichGWall A beautiful set of mission pictures! Please, if you like, add the rest of the journey :)

@Majakalona I'll look into it. But my first guess is that the 'Realistic Engine Overhaul' is needed to make this work.
Are you using an Android device? If you have a PC, try that for now. I will look to see if a vanilla version will work.

@RichGWall 'Realistic Engine Overhaul' gives you a lot of additional power I think so too.
I like the mission idea with the two identic crafts. I did similar for my Friedensbringer Moon mission. I will study your mission design. Nice interior as well.
I examine similar things with direct landing currently with the KSP1 RP-1 mod at Moon, which is a very hard job, a real time killer.
Your concept study is very interesting. Good work buddy !
