PYTHON RESUPPLY MODULE
The “Python” resupply module is a unmanned, expendable spacecraft used by Horizons Technologies designed to dock to a space station with selected cargo. As said, it is expendable. So after its mission is over it de-orbits and burns up in the atmosphere. Unless somebody recovers it with a much larger spacecraft. It is designed to launch on an Echo-7 into LDO. The design is cheap, lightweight, and flexable.
The python resupply module took part in a mission supporting @Chtite451SR2 ‘s effort known as the EXplore space station. It succesfully docked around 5:00 PST on September 28th. 2021. It is currently docked and awaiting a crew to enter the station and offload cargo.
Python uses a detachable “deorbit and propulsion module” that is responsible for storing monoprop for the RCS, thrusters for deorbiting, electricity, comms, and more.
Before reentry, this small module is detached to assure the modules burn up in the atmosphere; preventing the cargo module as being use as a heat shield.
TO DEORBIT
Activate “deorbit thrusters” AG, turn off RCS (ag10), and use the translate mode sticks and use the RCS to burn retrograde until you have a trajectory pointed at the atmosphere.
Feel free to use this to resupply your droods in need in your space stations in the heavens.
I hope you enjoy.
