I have recently reached 1000 points on my profile. I thought maybe I would build somthing that i have never built before. this is my very first spaceplane, the Starbird Ascension.
The starbird ascension is a spaceplane that is capable of going pretty much anywhere. it can carry a crew of four astronauts, it has vtol landing capabilities, and it can dock to other spacecrafts or satellites.
AG-1:MAIN ENGINES
AG-2:VTOL ENGINES
AG-3:LANDING GEAR MOTORS
AG-4:HEADLIGHTS
AG-5:DOCKING BAY
AG-6:HATCH COVERING (open before you do any EVAs from the spacecraft.
AG-7:RCS
AG-8:LANDING GEAR
AG-9:SOLAR ARRAYS
AG-10:DRAG CHUTES.
This spaceplane is not perfecly stable and does not fly perfectly, but it still flys pretty well. i have been able to fly it well most of the time.

@Fazakerley Thank you!
This is a great craft. Well done.
@BrTommygun thank you very much.
indeed looks cool
@CELESTIAL1 no problem
@rebornranch thank you!
Nice craft! Really enjoyable to fly.
@Ooflauncher1 yeah, maybe your angle of re-entry was to steep. If that was the problem then try re-entering from like a 200 kilometer orbit. I have crashed it a few times entering too steeply because it just couldn't bleed off enough speed in time. If you do use the VTOL engines my advice would be to not use them when the ship is experiencing 1000 degree heats because the hatches protecting them would open, exposing them to the heat. I would wait until the ship is cooling off before using the VTOL. The VTOL would probably be helpful in slowing down though.
@CELESTIAL1 on re-entry, I made it and used the chutes, but I crashed anyways. should've used the VTOL lol
@Ooflauncher1 oh I just realized the hatch covering on the ship is open. I would advise closing it before attempting to re enter the atmosphere.
@CELESTIAL1 almost made it to Luna 15,000 km off :(
@Ooflauncher1 no problem!
@CELESTIAL1 ooh I thought the seats were on some sort of elevator thx
@Ooflauncher1 you move the camera angle inside the front of the ship, click on the chair that the droonaut is sitting in, and click the eva button.
@CELESTIAL1 how do you exit them? I already tried sliders 1 & 2?
@Ooflauncher1 I also made it so that they exit the ship under the hatch so that It looks like they are coming out of the hatch.
@Ooflauncher1 The hatch doesn't open, it's just for looks but it does have 4 droonauts inside. They are inside the front of the ship sitting in chairs. I usually don't do interiors so they're just clipped inside the fuel tank.
@CELESTIAL1 also how do you open the hatch I see it has a 4 droonaut capacity?
@CELESTIAL1 I wish I was a good builder too... my points say it all.
@CELESTIAL1 np
@Ooflauncher1 Thank you!
@CELESTIAL1 also congrats on 1k
@CELESTIAL1 ok thx for help :D also make the hatch openable in future models pls- and I upvoted btw!
@Ooflauncher1 I will make more starbirds so I will try to work out that problem in the future versions.
@Ooflauncher1 ahh. did it burn up in the atmosphere on ascent? It did that on my mobile device but I never seemed to have that problem on my computer. maybe try ascending more slowly? that may help. If it still blows up maybe try heatproofing some of the unshielded parts.
