On September 26, Prototype 4 successfully completed its 10 kilometer flight test. It ascended, flipped, descended, flipped again, and landed. Our next prototype will have the more ambitious goal of ascending above the atmosphere, and into space.
New Features
Not much has changed with this prototype, other than adding one more leg for stability upon landing. Most of the changes are saved for Prototype 5.
How To Fly
Flying it is pretty easy (Depends on your experience). Don’t go above 60% throttle on liftoff. When at 9 kilometers, lock pitch on 0, and shut off Avior’s 1 and 2, so that Avior 3 assists with the flip to its belly. When flipping back to vertical for landing (5.2 kilometers, 5.5 to be safe), start up Avior 1 and 2, but switch them off after flipping halfway and change to 3 so it doesn’t over rotate. A soon as you are back facing retrograde, ignite all engines. Deploy landing legs with slider 1 and the activation group. There are helpful lights on them to see where you will land. FYI, there is about a 75% chance it will hit the ground too hard, tip over, or the legs will give up. Put all your hope into that 25%. Hope you enjoy. This will most likely never be human rated.

@Bluestaf haha yeah it flies rough. Fortunately my newer models fly smoother.

i totally mess everything up and then watch the crash at 1/10 speed while playing classical music in my head while trying to follow the "how to fly" thing
~The landed picture (With it on the ground) took over 10 tries. The legs kept breaking, or it would tip due to horizontal velocity. I don’t even know why I’m trying to build this.
