@Andy1966uk There are 2 ways to download a craft: One is that you can copy the link to it and then paste (ctrl+v) when in the designer.

But, if you want to open the file, on Windows at least:
1) Open it like any other file
2) It should show you a dialogue that asks you to select a program for the file. If SR2 doesn't show up in that first list click "more apps"
3) If you still can't find SR2 click "chose an app on this pc"
4) Navigate to SR2 in your Steam library, wherever that may be
5) select the exe for SR2.

I havent done it in a while but hopefully this helps.
After you do this SR2 should show up each time you download a craft and try to open it.
