@Maxpiens Okay, thanks for the logs. It's an access violation. There can be many things that can cause that. Antivirus, etc, but you said you disabled that. Also, are your graphics drivers up to date?
I also read that Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace can cause issues, do you have those installed? How about an app called Duet?
It also might be a Unity bug. We are planning on using an updated version of Unity in the next release for SR2, so that might possibly fix this issue.
Can you try downloading a craft again and after it fails, send us a bug report. The log file will hopefully she’d some light on why it’s failing. @Bmcclory @El0nMusk
The Planned state means it shows up the Prospects list on the Roadmap.
Items elevated to be given a shot at development, but no work has started on these yet. We plan to investigate all of these, but it is possible that some of them may never make it through the research and development phase for unforeseen reasons.
When something moves to InProgress, then that shows up in the Research and Development list.
Currently being researched and/or developed, but timeline is uncertain. We're trying to make these things work, but it's still possible that they may not make a future release due to unforeseen reasons.
Active just means that it has been reviewed and is in the backlog where players can vote and comment on it.
You can scale up the engine's fuel consumption to increase its thrust. That will get it to about 4,000kN. Still not enough, but you could always XML mod it to what you need.
@Maxpiens The files are compressed when you're downloading and then they're unzipped on your hard drive, so that's why you would see a larger file size on your hard drive than what the download is reporting.
Some other stuff to try would be removing your SimpleRockets 2 game data folder. Maybe something got into a weird state and is now preventing the game from running. You can try renaming or deleting this folder:
Here's what you should have. It sounds like yours is right. I wonder if one of the required install files failed to install correctly. Try downloading and running the Visual Studio 2017 x64 redist. You can download it here, from Microsoft. Make sure you get the x64 version.
@Maxpiens If it's only downloading a 22MB file, then that sounds like an issue with either Steam or maybe an anti-virus software getting a little too ambitious and deleting the files. Can you confirm you don't have the correct files under SimpleRockets 2 Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files? You should have about 207 files taking up about 810MB. If that's not the case, try seeing if you can update Steam. Also, try uninstalling and re-installing. Also, when you go through the installer process, are you logged in as an admin or giving it admin privileges when it asks?
@SupremeDorian Absolutely, but I do ask that you make a suggestion for that so we can track it. In the meantime, you can fairly easily work around this by doing a quick save and then making a backup the QuickSave folder in your game state. If you ever want to restore a specific backup, just rename it to QuickSave and then hit F8 in the game to Quick Load it. This is what I do to make snapshots during development.
@Chancey21 lol, that opacity slider would actually be pretty hard. We are planning to start working on 1.8 first thing next year. We're giving ourselves until Xmas break to work on bugs and quality of life updates for SR2. Make sure it's running smoothly before splitting the team to work on the 1.8 update.
@mjdfx150529 It's okay, like I said I appreciate you looking out for us, but hopefully in the future, we can all deal with these situations a little more gracefully! :D
Hey, I appreciate you all looking out for us, but in the future please just let us know and we'll deal with it directly. Dan Field was doing us a great favor by covering the game on his channel and he was, understandably, really upset by the negative comments. There was obviously just a misunderstanding regarding the timing, which we could easily (and tactfully) clear up with a direct message to him.
Thanks for letting us know, guys. He's not a beta tester, but a YouTuber that we gave a press key. He didn't appear to notice that we have an embargo date. Please, let us handle it and don't spam his video with negative comments.
How many crafts do you have in flight in your sandbox? You might want to consider clearing some out or starting a new sandbox.
6.0 years agoAh, I see. That is unfortunate. Well, when we get the next version out that uses an updated version of Unity maybe you can try again then.

6.0 years ago@Kerbango With SR2 you have much more control of than SP. Just open the Part Shape tool by pressing 'F' and adjust the corner radius.
