I love the idea of a challenge to wake things up! What are the requirements in terms reusability, is this wet cost/mass v. dry cost/mass, do we start from Droo or low lunar orbit, does it need to return to Droo, how much automation, and any payload requirements?
@KuiperAerospace I guess I know it's worth it now! I'm trying to make it around without tinkering though as a personal challenge. I'm trying to put small landers everywhere, although I had to use a 1.5 km/s splashdown on Vulco's "lava", so I guess I'm not above using exploits...
@KitKart I accidentally buried a couple Droonauts at sea while experimenting with different floating bases. Turns out they don't like to swim in 50m seas.
I'm not sure what your landing gear plan is, but if it's one in front and two in back, move the aft two wheels to only slightly behind the COM to make rotation easier. If it's 2 in front and a tail wheel, make the plane angle nose up by default. I suspect your problem is that it's generating plenty of lift, but it's negative lift and you aren't able to overcome it with your control surfaces.
This is a great guide! Thank you! All the math and explanations make logical sense, although I don't use jets much so I couldn't confirm with my own data. Its amazing how detailed the mechanics of the game are.
Lander 317kg $88k I'm pretty sure Droonauts have more self preservation instincts than to get in this thing though.

3.5 years agoIt doesn't. But you can put that inside of a while(true){

+2 3.7 years ago@Infinite17 yeah, but I didn't bother to integrate for the acceleration or anything, just went 18m/s for a while to compensate.
